I have loved the sheltie breed since I was a little girl and met my first one.  I was camping and spent the entire week we were there playing with our camping neighbor's dog and falling in love with the breed.  My parents never wanted a dog, so I vowed when I grew up I was going to get one and I did just that!  I got my first sheltie when I was 19 years old.  My brother and I jumped into it with both feet.  We bought our first show dog about a year later and began breeding and showing dogs in the midwest circuit for the next few years.  We have both gotten married and had children since then, and neither of us have shown our dogs for years, but we have both had at least one sheltie ever since.  My family and I moved to a 7 acre farm in Sheffield, IL in 2003 and with my kids now old enough to be a little independent, and help out, we set out to get back into shelties full time.  I have taken my time in getting my breeding stock as I have wanted to focus on some of the rarer colors and also making sure they were correct for body type, coat, head, expression, and most importantly to me, temperament.  Over the last two years, I have also taken on two other breeds that have stolen my heart.  Pomeranians and Miniature Schnauzers.  My dogs are registered with ACA, APRI, United All Breed, CKC and/or AKC.  I was less interested in the type of registration as I was the dog itself and what it could bring to my breeding program.  I now have a nice group of dogs that are first and foremost part of our family, but also the foundation stock of Spectral Rhapsody.  I also often have other dogs that are in need of homes for a variety of reasons.   Most of these dogs are young adult purebred dogs and occasionally puppies and most come with papers and full registration.  I also occasionally have some poodle crosses that I rehome for people that are looking for a fluffy little non-shedding dog.  It does my heart good finding great forever homes for "my babies".
