Why do I breed dogs?

There are two very common questions asked of me from people that inquire on my dogs.  The first is why do I breed dogs and the second is How can I let them leave after becoming attached to them.  Dog breeding is definitely very bittersweet.  You have losses, and you have joys, and watching them leave is never easy, but the best way to answer these questions is answered in this email that I received from a family that purchased Java, an 8 month old pomeranian that I decided to sell because he only had one testicle drop, and as much as I was attached to him, I knew I couldn't keep him with the move coming if I couldn't use him for breeding, so I made the difficult decision to sell him...  Here is their story...

Hi Dawn,

All I can tell you is that GOD allowed us to find you, you'll never know what this has meant to my parents.  In their 42 years of marriage, I have "NEVER" seen them both "collectively" together so happy when Java surprised their Christmas and their lives.  My parents had been so depressed since the loss of Gizmo our pomeranian we had to have put down a couple months ago, and it's like they never got over it, and this MADE my families Christmas in a way that was so special that I'll never forget the looks on their face.  Java has just been prancing around, and he so loves to be held, and we all just love him so much.  We continued him on the same food that you had him on and just loves that.

I don't remember or not if I told you, but my Dad is on Hospice care and is totally bedridden in a hospital bed in the middle of their living room, and he's only 63, he's basically in the final stages of emphazema, and is on oxygen 24/7, he went into a coma 2 years ago this month, and he was never the same again.  But he has been stopped smoking now for over 4 years for which we're thankful for.

And thank you again so much for being so willing to meet us and make that drive, that meant so much to as well, especially with it being Christmas Eve.

This was so much an answer to prayer, I'll be honest, it was a miracle in every direction of it, because if Java hadn't had the breeding issue which made the price less, we would've never been able to get him, and in all honesty, if you hadn't had that PayPal account to for us to use our credit card, we would've not been able to on that matter as well.  So I guess you can see how much of a true miracle that not only Java was to us, but that you and your sweet spirit was to us that day.

Thanks again Dawn, I pray God blesses your business like he never has before in 2009................Paul

So the simple answer to those questions is this...  It is truly humbling to be able to bless someone elses life in this way, and there is nothing more spiritually gratifying in my life that I have found than that.  It really does my heart good knowing that I in some small way was able to touch and enrich these people's lives with a furry gift of love.

Thanks for reading and God Bless!
Dawn :)
